At last. The green blob is unravelling.

At last the MSM are waking up to the greatest scam of modern times. The relentless push to green us regardless of cost and indeed, lives.

It's an inconvenient truth, but the global warming zealots are to blame for the deadly diesel fiasco, writes STEPHEN GLOVER

The green lobby have been obsessed with the word CARBON to the detriment of all else. If it’s got carbon in it’s name it has to go. Never mind that the damage ensuing is far worse than the benefits.
Twenty years ago, diesel cars constituted a tiny minority. But following the signing of the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, most Western countries, including Britain, were legally obliged to reduce carbon dioxide emissions — alleged by some to cause climate change — by 8 per cent over the following 15 years.
As a smoker I’ve been bombarded by the insidious propaganda from the anti smoking zealots that my filthy habit is the cause of just about all the known ills that can effect all mankind. Strange that as smoking prevalence in the population has fallen by sixty percent over the years, Childhood asthma has risen at an alarming rate.
Could there just be a teensy weensy link between diesel particulates and the Asthma rise? I’ll leave you with one last section from the article.
Indeed, it is one of the ironies of this story that America — which, to the outrage of the climate-change lobby, did not ratify the Kyoto Protocol because of a certain scepticism about man-made climate change — is far sterner about vehicle pollution than any European country, including our own.
Haven’t they got it the right way round? A baby being pushed by her mother in a buggy, a cyclist and even an ordinary pedestrian walking along the pavement of a busy street are being exposed to unnecessary risks as a result of the completely foreseen dangers of diesel vehicles.
It’s heartening to say the least that the MSM (Except the BBC of course. They are still in thrall to the greens) are at last openly exposing the green credo for what it is. A religion gone bonkers.

Public health

There’s a good article over on Dick Puddlecote’s  blog about those killjoys at Public health.

Here is one paragraph that the health zealots think of us, the great unwashed public.

“Lifestyle” is a loaded term that reinforces stereotypes about individuals and a world view that people are majorly or entirely responsible for their own health. Indeed surely the term “death style” would be better because the logical implication is that most individuals in our society are consciously choosing to lead unhealthy lives. Using such a term ignores the many and varied influences on health; the implicit assumption is that all is solved by developing an individual’s rational health decision making capacity.

Go and read Dick’s post. He makes the counter argument better than I ever could.

Global warming?

An interesting  trailer denouncing the cult of global warming.

One day we will see the fanatical cult who believe in global warming, slinking away with their tails between their legs.

Here's a post worth reading on the subject

Love it or hate it?

It would seem that the Neo-puritans have even less of a sense of humour than I thought.

A TV advert in which a spoof rescue team saves "stricken" jars of Marmite from homes where they have been neglected has prompted 278 complaints.

Some 250 complaints were received by the Advertising Standards Authority in just 24 hours, following the advert's debut on Monday evening.

Those who objected found the advert "offensive" and "in poor taste", said a spokesman for the ASA.

FFS can’t you see it’s a spoof.

Comments include the like of this.

"This ad shows no regard for all those involved with animal welfair [sic] and I personaly [sic] will no longer eat Marmite till this ad is pulled," wrote one.

Hah.

And from a main suspect.

The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) said it understood that "animal lovers are concerned on our behalf".

Bollocks. I’m an animal lover and even I can see the advert as a light-hearted parody.

Wankers.

Hurrah. It’s……….

Stoptober. (Bugger off, spellchecker, this is nothing to do with you. Get back in the closet).

Today we’ll see a new campaign exhort us smoking plebs (Oooh er, Did I just use a naughty word there?), to stop smoking for the month of  October.

Look you wankers in public health, and assorted fake charities such as ASH. I‘ve put up with National No Smoking day (I buy an extra pack on that day), but I’m seriously pissed off with the thought of the mindless drivel that we are going to be subjected to in the coming month.

Here’s a taster of that mindless drivel (Be sick if you wish).

Why should I stop? After all I’m contributing a fortune to the exchequer via excise duties. I’ve just done a quick calculation (On the back of a fag packet. Natch), that I’ve paid at least £35,000 in NI payments throughout my life, and still paying out of my pension. In that period I’ve had exactly five days off sick. I also  pay for private medical care and dentistry.

What is it with the Nu puritans who think that everyone has to conform to a state run norm? Are you trying to turn the country into some marxist, state run regime, only allowing the health fanatic elite to travel the Zil lanes to a supposed healthist utopia?

Well you can try, but you will fail with this smoker. I couldn’t give a shit about your silly games. I refuse to bow down to the nanny state.

What are you going to do about it?

Here’s my answer.

1984

You really shouldn't have published that book Mr Orwell. The wankers in government are using it as a blueprint now.

We really are slipping into a total surveillance state. North Korea must be smiling.

Are you deaf or summink?

They’ll try every trick in the book to revile smoking. Can you hear me at the back?

Teenagers could suffer hearing loss because of passive smoking, according to new research.

Inhaling other people’s tobacco smoke almost doubled the risk of impaired hearing among adolescents, it was claimed.

The levels of damage were mild but could be enough to stop them hearing properly in class and leave them branded ‘troublemakers’.

Notice the usual weasel words, such as could and claimed.

The loss of hearing may be explained by toxic tobacco chemicals damaging the ear’s delicate blood supply, the scientists believe. Even mild hearing loss could have ‘subtle yet serious’ consequences, said Prof Weitzman.

Oh and the word may.

I’ve been properly smoking for 48 years, so how come I’m not as deaf as a post then.

Why is it that they can’t come out with proper research that states categorically one thing or another. This sort of disingenuous clap trap is just a waste of taxpayers’ money.

It might be an idea if they did further research into how many of these adolescents had ipods jammed in their ears.

Passive smoking is the primary cause of global warming. Everyone knows that.

Pedestrianisation

This snuck under my Radar.

POLLUTION has become so bad in Tonbridge that the council is considering pedestrianising the High Street.

The only reason that the traffic density is so high in Tonbridge is that, although there is a byepass round Tonbridge and also round Tunbridge Wells to the south, they forgot one teensy weensy point that would be quite usefull. To make them effective they need to be JOINED together. Bearing in mind that this was proposed nearly fifteen years ago.

Now Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has developed an action plan to combat the fumes, with the use of the town centre for pedestrians "at its heart".

As well as a pedestrianisation scheme, the plan also proposes stricter parking enforcement to reduce "idling of engines", as well as improved junctions in the town centre and a reduction in harmful emissions from buses.

Stricter parking enforcement. FFS, Notwithstanding that they’ve pushed the price of parking in the car parks up by 15% this year, they’ve already got a Gestapo of their own that would make Hitler proud.

Of course the usual suspect turns up to put his oar in.

But Kent Green Party  watermelon spokesman Steve Dawe said pedestrianisation was the only step that would bring pollution down to a "safe" level.

As a local commentator piles in with a few facts to refute the above.

“These figures are completely incorrect .The figures quoted are µgm-3 levels which is not the same as ppm.If you look at the air quality website and study the data in context the NO2 levels are considered low at the monitoring site in Tonbridge High Street.
There are obviously spikes which is only to be expected given that the official monitoring site is above a bus stop (My embolden)but generally the levels are low.At no time over the last month has the N02 reading in Tonbridge High Street been higher than moderate which was just one day.The rest of the month the N02 levels have been Low .Either someone doesnt understand science or the figures are being deliberately misrepresented for political gain.”

However the watermelon must show his stupidity further.

"It has  the busiest station in terms of passengers in the whole of Kent. Tonbridge also has an unusual number of secondary schools and there are people coming and going in and out of Tonbridge on a daily basis.

Now let me see.

Point one. "It is the busiest station in terms of passengers …….. Well why did some fuckwit reduce the drop off points from five to three.

Point two.  unusual number of secondary schools………. Could this be that Tonbridge has three of the best Grammar schools in the country?

And finally. This.

"From a commercial point of view, the level of vacancies in the High Street is getting higher. Pedestrianisation would increase the footfall of people in the area."

No it won’t There are bugger all  decent shops left. They’ve all moved out of Town where the parking is free. That’s where most people go to shop.

Maybe the council thinks we all shop at poundstretchers, charity shops, or at Lidle. Because that’s all we’ve got left.

I suppose next they’ll want a smoke free pedestrian high street. They’d better be quick if they want to be the first.

Holiday entitlement.

pigs in troughs

I really can’t believe that our politicians are so out of touch with what the average commuter has to put up with, and come up with this.

We’re buggered if we are going to be inconvenienced by the Olympics.

Those poor MPs are going to take extra holiday because they are going to be put out by the road/rail chaos that will ensue during their puff piece that I for one never had a say in.

I mean , really, how many private companies would stay in business if every worker was allowed to take time off to see his/her (I must be PC here) entertainment of choice.

And the Nub is here.

Parliament will rise on July 13 to avoid the tight road restrictions being put in place for the Games.

So what. The public that pays their wages can’t just pick and choose to down tools when the local roadworks inconveniences them. Definitely a case of we are above you plebs.  They really haven’t a clue of how they are held in so much contempt.

Some comments on the article.

One rule for them... one for us. 'Twas ever thus.
- Abie Vee, Hendon NW££, 31/05/2011 16:17

We could pay off the deficit if all 650 of them went on gardening leave - and not one of them would be missed.
- R.F.Yorke, Yorks,, 31/05/2011 15:02

Why don't they shut down for their summer break and never come back? Parliament is an outmoded and useless institution that costs the taxpayer an obscene amount of money. Why do we need these parasites?
- Joe Blow, Wales, 31/05/2011 13:37

They obviously need the extended holiday so they can stick their snouts in the Olympic trough and not have to worry about getting back to 'work'
- Johnny Reggae, south east, 31/05/2011 12:42

What a joke!
They take 2-3 weeks at Easter, 6-7 weeks in the summer and 2-3 weeks at Christmas along with all school half-term holidays. This totals some 3-4 months holiday breaks per year. Maybe we should put them all in school uniform, pay them £30 per week and send them off with a packed lunch on the bus with their free pass.
The job does not end because it's a weekend, holiday or some form of anti-social timing. Get on with the job and start sorting out UK's mess. You could begin by scrapping your gold-plated pensions, reducing your holidays to maximum of 5 weeks per year and it would make a very pleasaant change for MP's to be affected by their decisions.
- Guy, Croydon, 31/05/2011 11:49

Strange? There was not one comment in support.

Fools

More than 190 countries have struck an agreement at the latest round of UN climate talks that puts efforts to secure a new international deal to tackle global warming back on track.

So that’ll be more of my money down the drain of bird mincers, photo voltaic crap, and carbon capture then.

It's not just Police that harass Photographers (part two)

I recently posted how another blogger was removed from a South Eastern train for photographing two "Rail Enforcement Officers". See Here.

Oh quelle surprise. Look what appeared in his Blog comments.

image

At first sight it would seem to be an anonymous Blogger venting bile.

However. The IP address that the comment came from

image

The CW-GO-AHEAD-GROUP is part of the group that runs the train company.

I wonder who it is?

I did send South Eastern this missive. I wonder if they will reply?

I’m somewhat perturbed about an incident doing the rounds of the Blogosphere where two of your REO’s detained one of your customers unlawfully, for taking photos of them. This could be construed as “false imprisonment”

“The crime of false imprisonment can be committed when the victim is restrained physically, like being locked in a car. It can also be committed simply by words, as where intimidation or commands are used, if the victim submits.”

I presume that the REOs that you train will be reminded of their duty to obey the law the same way that you would expect your fare paying passengers to do so.

And this little missive from the Go-ahead-group doesn’t help your cause.

“You could of course go and get a life.
Instead of looking for trouble, why not spend the time doing something worthwhile, like hanging yourself?”

Allegedly sent from Go-ahead group. I’ll give you the IP address for your interest. 194.205.143.128-159.

Yours Sincerely in anticipation of a reply

A propaganda broadcast on behalf of the nanny state

I'm really fed up with the way they are determined to take all pleasure out of living. The latest shite about to be pedaled.

Well another single malt is called for. It might ease the pain of watching that crap.

Break the law at your peril

It would seem from this article in the Mail today, that you really can be locked up for anything.

Labour has created 4,300 new crimes since taking power - including a ban on swimming in the wreck of the Titanic and on the sale of game birds shot on a Sunday.

Gordon Brown has been the worst offender in this unprecedented 'legislative splurge', with his Government creating new offences at the rate of 33 a month.

I especially liked this:

Causing a nuclear explosion - Nuclear Explosions (Prohibition and Inspections) Act.

More loony ones below:

laws

The biggest problem I find with this wankfest of new law making, is that most of us don't know about them until some Jobsworth comes knocking on our door to inform us that the nuclear weapon we are about to explode, will incur a fixed penalty notice. I mean how  many of us know that it is illegal to "Disturb a pack of eggs when directed not to by an authorised Officer"?

How also, do we know who the authorised officer is? Does he have an ID card with Egg pack protection officer stamped across it?

It's warmer this decade, opines BBC pravda

I really am getting fed up with what are now, not just halftruths, but downright lies. All independant reports have stressed that for the last ten years, the earth has cooled. Did you hear that BEEB? C-O-O-L-E-D.

The first decade of this century is "by far" the warmest since instrumental records began, say the UK Met Office and World Meteorological Organization.

Their analyses also show that 2009 will almost certainly be the fifth warmest in the 160-year record.

Burgeoning El Nino conditions, adding to man-made greenhouse warming, have pushed 2009 into the "top 10" years.

They really are toeing the party line aren't they?

Go on read the whole article. I'm not putting the whole lot here as my blood pressure is high enough.

Oh and bye the way, it has it's very own Hockey stick graph.

Here is the Beeb Propaganda to support dodgy science.

I don't believe it, Sandwell "Elf" and safety at it again

You couldn't make it up.

sandwell council are at it again:

A pair of friendly gnomes have been banned from a block of Black Country flats under strict new health and safety rules.
It's unbelievable that this council can be so stupid.

Linda Langford has also been told to remove her ‘welcome’ plaque on the grounds it is a fire risk. Sandwell Council insists it is ‘common sense’ to ban the gnomes and a senior councillor defended the move as potentially ‘life-saving’.

The pottery gnomes – one hitting an anvil and the other reading a book – have been outside Miss Langford’s flat in Sedgley Road West, Tipton, since she moved in nine years ago.

and the usual weasel words,

But Sandwell’s housing boss Councillor Mahboob Hussain said: “I have received complaints about items blocking communal areas and I have visited flats to look at the problem.

“I’ve seen people blocking hallways in a manner that is just not acceptable. I’ve seen chests of drawers on landings and plants on staircases. This is about fire regulations. We have to use common sense. If it helps to save one life, it’s worth it.”

The next one will be "think of the cheeeldren". That hasn't been used yet.

UPDATE: The council have apologised to Mrs Langford.

'Sandwell Homes had slightly misinterpreted the policy on items in communal areas.'

The councillor said the authority's aim was to use common sense in identifying fire hazards and to treat each case on its merits.

'Our policy is that as long as there is not an excessive number of gnomes or similar items in communal areas, and as long as there isn't a problem with these items being damaged through anti-social behaviour, they can stay.'

H/T to Big Brother watch & The express and star

Sandwell Council again!

In another act of unbridled idiocy, a Sandwell Jobsworth is at it again.

Kerrie-Anne Hickin was dashing to catch a bus and as she took the tissue out of her pocket it blew away in a gust of wind.

She said the next thing she knew, a warden was at her side at the bus stop writing a ticket.

The more I read about this council, the more I think about stocking up on more piano wire.

The warden was representing Sandwell Council, which faced criticism earlier this month for fining a young mother for feeding the ducks with her son at a park.
And the usual weazle words from the council mouthpiece:

Derek Rowley, a Sandwell Councillor, said: “Survey after survey tells us that litter is a major worry for the people of Sandwell. They tell us they don't want to see litter on the streets of Sandwell.

"We are responding to people's complaints about litter and we have a duty to respond to local people's concerns.”

Please make it stop. I think I'll go and lie down it a darkened room.

The whole article is here.

Dead against Skyprotect

Aaaagh.

Dear Wankers at Skyprotect,

I have just received a letter from yourselves, thanking me for purchasing Skyprotect.

I have done no such thing. The only time I have contacted you was to inform you of the DEATH of my uncle, Mr xxxxxx . That's it, DEAD, DECEASED, SHRUGGED OFF HIS MORTAL COIL, Etc. Need I go on? Is no-one taught to actually read letters these days. There was also another slight clue in the envelope which you failed to spot. Why would I enclose a death certificate?. It's not a mandatory document required for a purchase as yet.

Yours, in disgust,

Mr Filthy Engineer

Soon to ditch Sky and turn to Virgin cable.

Hope I wasn't too hard on them for their minor mistake
