State guardians

The SNP state Guardians at work.

The text below came from the parent of a child at school in Aberdeen.

At lunchtime today I received a phonecall at work from my youngest daughter, who is almost 13 and who is in S1 at an Aberdeen Secondary school.

She told me that she had been taken out of her class after being “given an appointment” with the School Nurse. Neither she nor I had any prior knowledge of any appointment therefore I was interested to know more.

She had been advised that the appointment was for “a little chat” – however the “nurse” was not anyone she had seen before – i.e. not the usual School Nurse.

The “little chat” was actually a list of probing and very personal questions about my daughter’s home life as opposed to her health as follows:

Who do you live with?

Do you get on with your sister?

Where do your other siblings live – do they live nearby?

Do your parents work? What jobs do they do?

Do you have any pets?

How many pets?

Do you sleep well?

When my daughter answered YES to this question the nurse said: “…so no bed-wetting then?”

Have you started your menstrual periods?

Do you feel safe and secure in your home?

Do you feel loved and cared for?

Are you listened to?

If you have a problem who would you go to? My daughter replied she would go to either parent – and this was met with “but it would be your Mum if it was about puberty etc yes?”

Do you have a good relationship with your parents?

Can you talk to them – etc. etc?

My daughter said to me that she felt very uncomfortable and taken aback at the questions.

Me? Well I was absolutely RAGING!

I telephoned the school and the “Lead Nurse” called me back “to explain and address your concerns”. The woman talked to me in a tone which suggested she thought I was a complete idiot, intimidated by bureaucracy – that misapprehension was swiftly corrected!

I asked why I had not been contacted to give my consent. “Oh but you gave consent for that when you signed up to the core programme…” WTF?

She then mentioned SHANARRI (safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible, included) and GIRFEC “Getting It Right For Every Child” – followed by a spiel about the Named Person – all of these being the euphemisms for the SNP’s plan for making all Scottish children wards of the State, undermining the role of all Scottish parents, brainwashing our children with vile inward-looking nationalism and consigning the family unit to the dustbin of history.

I was so angry I could barely speak – but I asked for a copy of the notes which had been taken and the boxes ticked during my daughter’s “little chat”. “Oh that’s confidential” replied the nurse “we have to respect your daughter’s confidentiality…”

This is not over by any means – I will obtain a copy of the notes and I intend to ensure that my child is never subjected to this again.

Wake up Scotland and get rid of these NAZIS (because that’s what they are) before they destroy our country and our children.

Incandescent with rage doesn’t even come close.

There you have it, a first hand account of the SNP State Guardians at work.

Of course the rest of the UK will follow like sheep given time.

Global warming?

An interesting  trailer denouncing the cult of global warming.

One day we will see the fanatical cult who believe in global warming, slinking away with their tails between their legs.

Here's a post worth reading on the subject

Entrepreneur

This is an old one. But what the hell. Maybe I'll try it out. I doubt that my local council would catch on.

It's bad for you.

Tobacco...........check
Alcohol............check
Sugar................check
salt....................check
TEA..................WTF!

Is there nothing that the bansturbators NOT want to ban?

Most people love a good cup of hot tea, so it may be surprising to learn that your morning cuppa could be bad for you.
Recent research at University College London suggests that drinking tea could be detrimental to health, causing frequent nosebleeds and brittle bones.
It is thought that the steam from tea can lead to the weakening or rupturing of the vessels in the nose, causing nose bleeds.
Anyone who has had a nosebleed is advised to avoid drinking any hot drinks for 24 hours.
Researchers found that drinking the liquid while it is extremely hot is especially bad for you, and that allowing the tea to steep for at least five minutes will not ruin the flavour.
I've been drinking tea for most of my life and have never had a nose bleed.

Will the twats please leave us alone to our own devices.

He's bored.

My Son, that is.

A few years ago he was diagnosed as having cancer of the thyroid. As they do, they promptly cut it out and after a course or two of radiotherapy he was deemed to be fit to rejoin the real world outside the NHS.

The problem with not having a thyroid is that your body is no longer able to absorb calcium. That means the boy had to take pills to adjust for that. Although these work, he has always had poor levels of calcium, usually about 0.7 (Somethings), whereas the recommended level is usually about 1.5.

Anyhoo. he spent last week in Scotland travelling and seeing the sites. However he began to feel somewhat ill and suffered from headaches at the end. A trip to his GP was in order.

The doc measured my son's calcium level and promptly told him to get his arse in gear and get himself down to the local A & E. The readings for the calcium level were 3.5 (somethings).

He's now on a saline drip, awaiting a myriad of tests.

And FED UP.

Why me?

Why is it that whenever someone I know has a problem with their computer, they phone me?

FFS. I'm an old bugger who should know nothing about the workings of the marvels of modern industry. The younger generation are supposedly brought up with computers.

However I think I have the advantage of being an engineer (retired). Engineers are fascinated by how things work and years ago I became interested in computing. My first foray into computing was when I bought, at vast expense, a Sinclair ZX81, with 1k of RAM memory. Wow. I soon learnt to write simple programmes in BASIC (Beginners all purpose symbolic instruction code).

These were the days of computers that really couldn't do much at all. Everyone was trying to find a better system to work with.

I was even on one class of ship that used an air operated computer system to control the engines (Fluidics).

Then windows came along and computers took off with a vengeance. How things have changed.

Why did I write this post? I think my ram memory has failed.

Here's that slippery slope

If you read my previous post, you'll see that the authorities are hell bent on turning our lives into complete misery if they can.

We'll probably see signs like this coming in to force if the bansturbators get their way.

Dedicated to anonymous in my last post.

That slippery slope that doesn’t exist?

coke1

Like a soft drink do you? Well get ready to be de-humanised for it over the next few years.

Smokers such as myself have already experienced it. But is only just starting for the lovers of soft drinks.

For smokers it first started with colossal rises in tax on tobacco products.

Guess what, soft drink lovers, it's going to happen to you in the near future.

Thousands of cases of diabetes and cancer could be avoided, saving the NHS £300million, by putting a health tax of 12p a can on sugary drinks, it is claimed. (My bold: They don’t actually know)

Academics have calculated the likely reduction in consumption caused by putting up the price of full sugar drinks like Coca-Cola and Pepsi and the resulting health benefits.

The work by experts at the University of Liverpool and the Children’s Food Campaign will fuel the growing campaign to extend the principle of a duty on unhealthy products from cigarettes and alcohol to some types of drink and food.

The start of your fall from grace begins there. They actually admit to wishing to follow the tobacco control template

Health campaigners and doctors have controversially likened sugar and its contribution to obesity and ill-health as the ‘new tobacco’.

Next will be horrendous images of diseased kidneys, rotting teeth, and pictures of ill people in bed  covering your can of delight.

The next step will be to of course will continue with fizzy pop being hidden behind screens for “THE SAKE OF THE CHEEEELDREN”.

You tell me what comes next….

More green idiocy

Can you imagine what would happen if they ran the country?

Would I be jailed for pruning my apple trees?

No Smoking?

Poetic justice?

Or just ban everything.

What the young are taught now.

It’s coming up to election time.

So lets have a little plain packaging shall we?

The real truth comes out

I found all these lurking in my computer whilst searching for a particular pic, so I thought I’d share them.

Night off.

Cos it's my birthday.

That's the upside.

The downside is that I've damaged a thigh muscle.

So I'm medicating with Whisky. Hic.

Plain packaging and the Nanny State

Video taken at the Institute of Directors explaining why plain packaging is high on the agenda of the Nanny State.

If you don't agree with the ban, then vote with your feet in the May election and support a party that is against the bill.
