This is the illiberal twat that is really responsible for pushing up your energy bills with green subsidies. This is the day British Gas announces an increase in a duel fuel bill by 9.2 percent.

At about 1min 45 in on the vid he bareface lies, stating that before 2011 there were no other company that was offering cheaper energy than British Gas. Well this blogger left BG some 10 years ago and always managed to obtain cheaper energy by shopping around.



 It's no good blaming the energy companies for this. They've been forced to compete against inefficient, subsidised, green technology. They have to compete with onshore bird mincer subsidies to the tune of £100/Mw hr, and offshore at £150/Mw hr.

EG: See how much a wind farm is producing to see the inneficiency of wind.



It's producing just 18.3244% of it's rated capacity.

They've also been forced to pay for loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, etc, for their customers. No wonder the price of energy is rocketing.

DISCLAIMER: The FE household has not applied for loft insulation or cavity wall insulation. The reason being that he has no loft or cavity walls. (In fact I would be loathe to have cavity wall insulation as it can in the long run do serious damage to your home. (If you doubt this. See me after school).

This is about a blog post by the illiberal chair of the “All parliamentary group on smoking and health”. His blog post is about the push to plain packet cigarettes into our shops.

This morning I was pleased to help launch Europe’s first major campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of glitzy tobacco packaging to children.  The Coalition Government will shortly launch its consultation exercise on whether to follow the example of Australia and introduce the plain packaging of cigarettes.

Of course the commenters on his blog are totally supportive of this action he his so proud of.

Do go and read them. He is ever so slightly in the majority. (NOT).

He comes across as a typical politician that has found a band wagon to further his political career. Hopefully the wheels will fall off one day.

Dr Tony Jewell, chief medical officer for Wales, said that stopping people lighting up in their own homes would protect their children from the dangers of passive smoking.

and.

'It could be seen as the final piece of the protection picture or at least adding to the growing public consensus on the social acceptability of smoking.'

I suspect they will do one of those surveys in Wales in the near future. One of those that is phrased like this.

“Should smoking be banned in homes for the sake of the cheeeldren?”

Of course they’ll get an 80% yes vote for that.

So then they’ll produce a law which they won’t have a hope in hell of enforcing.

I don’t live in Wales but if I did I’d just love a state sponsored, No smoking enforcement officer, to just try it on. It is my property and it is nothing to do with the state with what I do within it within reason. (Obviously murder is slightly over the top).

What has become of this country?

Brown rallies troops for battle

Gordon Brown told Labour activists they had 22 days to persuade voters their party was "the greatest force for fairness" in Britain.

At a small campaign rally in Leeds, the Prime Minister sought to energise his party's rank-and-file as the polls showed the Tories' lead over Labour narrowing to as little as three points.

Where have I heard that sort of talk before. Oh yes. Wasn't it something like we've only got 50 months to save the planet from Anthroprogenic global warming?

I just hope that in twenty two days time the labour party and that idiot , snot gobbling, cunt,* Brown are swept from power, preferably for ever.

Specially after this quote:

ASH v Forest

This hideous woman, Deborah Arnott has the temerity to state that Forest is funded by Big tobacco. What she doesn't let the viewer know is that ASH is in the main, funded as a lobby group by the government, and by Big Pharma.

The figures for Ash's funds over at the Fake Charities site are as follows.

Its 2008/09 accounts show a total income of £742,562, of which:

• Department of Health: £142,000
• ---
• Total £142,000 (19.1% of all income)

The remainder of its income comes from ASH International (part-funded by Pfizer), and supporting charities, principally Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

It received just £4,975 in voluntary donations from the public, plus a £10,000 legacy.

Surely if the public were so against smoking the private donations would be flooding in.

Amazingly Smokers and anti smokers were able to collect twice as much in the campaign to free the Publican Nick Hogan. IN 4 DAYS.

You couldn't make it up. Even those working in the parliamentary fees office were at it.

A top House of Commons official whose department was at the centre of the MPs expenses scandal has quit in disgrace after being arrested over fraud allegations.

Andrew Gibson, 49, who worked in the parliamentary Fees Office, was detained as a result of the long-running police investigation into MPs' expenses.

The Fees Office, and its role in agreeing MPs’ expense claims, was central to the controversy that engulfed the Commons last year.

Well I suppose he  saw how the troughers MP's could do it, and thought that he'd have a piece of it as well.

Inquiries by Scotland Yard revealed discrepancies in accounts handled by Gibson, a Resources Budget Officer who was well known to MPs as the man at the desk in the Fees Office who handled their expenses claims.

Sir Nicholas Winterton has angrily denounced plans to reduce first-class travel by MPs - telling the BBC he needs "quiet" and privacy to work.

The veteran Tory MP said there was a "totally different type of people" in standard-class train carriages.

Maybe if he was forced to sit stand in second class he might just realise what the rest of us have to endure when we are travelling on Shitish Rail, or whatever it is called now.

And although we pay for it, he has this to add.

Asked whether it mattered that the public might not agree with first-class travel, he said: "I'm sorry, the public are wrong. It's for Parliament to decide not the public."

Idiots like him make me want to spit.

It looks like us AGW skeptics are spreading disinformation according to an article in the Guardian. I would say to Joss Garman that it is more like trying to get people to think about the science and the politics of the subject.

It seems that we've struck a raw nerve:

If they can prove the science then let them do so. For the moment I'm staying a skeptic.

Legal aid bosses have seized the house belonging to radical cleric Abu Hamza to pay off some of his defence costs.

The Legal Services Commission appropriated the property in Greenford, west London, despite Hamza claiming it did not belong to him.

It will now be sold in an attempt to pay off some of the £300,000 of taxpayers' money spent on his legal bills. Officials hope to raise £280,000 from the sale.

Of course it would make my day if he lost his appeal against extradition to the USA.

Devine comedy

I watched the interview with disgraced MP Jim Devine with incredulity. Not only was he unable to realise that what he did was just plain wrong, but he couldn't get his facts straight.

He was floundering to the Nth degree.

When asked to justify his annual bill for cleaning, (£3500 of our money. Does he not know how to use a vacuum cleaner?) he has the audacity to claim that he paid it all upfront. He then contradicts himself several times, with in one sentence £180 per month, and in the next £150 per month. Now even at £180 per month that does not add up to £3500 for a year.

Then he can't even get it right over what period he was claiming for. And this is one of elected MP's.

Next he is quizzed over his expense on stationary. He'd been caught flipping his stationary allowance into office expenses. His excuse was "a whip told me I could do it". Should he not have contacted the expenses committee if he had doubts.

Just go and watch it for yourself.

What a labour Tosser. If he represents you, then I'm sorry. Then again you voted him in you sorry tossers.

Blue Labour

The more I hear from David Cameron, the more dispirited I become. Although I'm of a libertarian persuasion, I always thought that if there was no Libertarian candidate in my ward, I would vote conservative. Now I'm not at all convinced that I can tread that path.

All I seem to hear is the soundbite spin speak, so beloved of the Blair years. I want radical change in politics, not more of the same that we have endured for the last 13 years.

I want a politician that stands for the good of the country. I do not want a politician that just wants the power his office gives him.

I shall be writing to my MP setting out my demands of why I should vote for him.

PS. I'm still waiting for a reply to the last E mail I sent to him.
