Money saved by bad service.

Yes really. My aged Dragon Mother in law’s video recorder finally gave up the ghost and being a dutiful son- in- law I duly searched for a replacement. After a bit of trawling around on the internet I came across a cheap, cheerful, and easy to use PVR from a well known store where the girl in the tight jeans taps her back pocket to the accompanying jingle of cash.

Now I ordered this before the Royal Wedding and paid for named day delivery. The date being 3rd of this month. Stipulation from the  delivery cunts company being that the delivery could be anywhere between 0700 and 1900.

OK. Fair enough.

No it bloody wasn’t. I tracked it from the day of purchase and was pleased that it had arrived into the local depot on 28th April. However the 3rd came and went, and no delivery. So yesterday morning I phoned the courier company and politely asked where was my package. I was assured that the local depot would be contacted and I was to expect a call from them in 20-30 minutes. 4 hours later, fuck all contact.

Oh well back on the phone (premium rate of course, complete with “Due to the high demand……………..etc,etc) I spoke with a complete mongtard, who seemed to think that this was a perfectly acceptable way to conduct their business. Needless to say after trying to get over to this twat that I was the customer and he had let me down, I gave him an ultimatum. If my order gets to me by midday today then I would accept it. I might as well have beaten my head against a re-inforced wall. (Oh I forgot to tell you that this company is run from Liverpool. Enough said?). 1201 today I cancelled the order.

This order was for £124 and here the upside of the story. Whilst seething away, I managed to locate the same product for the grand sum of £87. Duly ordered.

Sorry to bore you with this. However if you informed that the courier service is The Home Delivery Network, be afraid, very afraid.

Gullible Warmenist

A short, but to the point definition of one who believes in the whole scam of Global warming. Taken from the Urban Dictionary

Gullible, scientificially illiterate, unthinking acolyte and zombie-fied propagandist of the Religion of Anthropogenic Global Warming. One who takes direct orders from High Priest King of Idiocy, Albert J. Gore. One who puts the "mental" in environmentalism. Historical inheritors of those who believed that King Canute could hold back the tides and that the wolf would eat the moon unless their first-born daughter's virginity was sacrificed to the local shaman.

Says it all.

Religion of peace. Don’t make me laugh

The Yanks may have killed Osama Bin Laden, but until the mind set in the video below is challenged, nothing will change.

Ban ban ban.

It’s all we ever hear these days.

The latest stupid, idiotic idea is…………………..

A health minister has suggested banning cars from streets on Sundays to revive outside play for children and tackle obesity.

Public health minister Anne Milton proposed road closures to get youngsters off their computers and enjoying sport and other physical activities.

What is it with these people? And where did she get this idea from?

"On Sundays they close certain streets in Colombia so that everybody can play in them. That is an outstanding idea".

FFS Columbia. They probably shut the streets to get their “product” to the drug boats quicker.

Engineering as it used to be. Part 6

3 boobs

Next time on Lost Fe’s adventures at sea will be Sembewang, voyage on a destroyer, a broken light bulb (You think I’m joking. Oh No), Japan, and  Ladies of the night, and Portland harbour.

Oh right that’s where I was.

To cut a long story short, (Ninety days on the Beira patrol is not short, believe you me), we finally sailed for Singapore. To say that we didn’t pull the stops out is and understatement. The extra nozzles were opened to the turbine and all fires introduced into the boilers, propelling us along at 23 knots. (A Knot is a nautical mile per hour. A nautical mile is 1 minute of arc, on a great circle on the earth, just in case you’re interested*).

After that mad dash across the Indian Ocean we arrived at JSB. To the uninitiated that stands for “Johore straits buoy” and stands at the lower part of Singapore island. Here we picked up a pilot to guide us  round the shallow bits. Eventually we were tied up in the naval base and shore leave was granted.

Right. Where to go? Now of course it could be into the village and the seedy side of life, or. Or nothing, it’s the village of course. What hot bloodied teenager would pass up that option?

Just to set the scene.

Sembawang village consisted of a mixture of shops (Cheap), food stalls(Cheap), and Knocking shops bars. Obviously the first port of call was a knocking shop food stall for something to eat.

The food at the stalls was a mixture of Chinese and Malay and, my God was it good. As one that had existed on my mother’s food (God rest her soul), this was heaven. It didn’t even matter that the tables were next to what looked like an open sewer(Actually a monsoon storm drain), the food was nectar from the Gods.

That’s enough about food. What’s more important than cheap beer and cheap women? Nothing that I know of. When you think that the exchange rate was eight dollars to the pound and beer was fifty cents for a pint of Tiger, then you can imagine that paradise had arrived.

Now imagine that you were on a strip that had fifty percent of it’s properties as bars then you’re talking my kind of place. (Well not now of course).

Time to open the door to that world of beer, debauchery, and music.

Well. Maybe next time.
