The Science of Government

governmentium

The CSIR has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element is Governmentium (Gv). It has one neutron, 35 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lefton-like particles called peons.

Since Governmentium has no electrons or protons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.

A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction normally taking less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete.   Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years. It does not decay but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

All of the money is consumed in the exchange, and no other byproducts are produced.

Can I have my Nobel prize now?

He's glowing.

As I type this by the green glow emanating from my radioactive son I wonder what the future will hold?

When I was younger, it was an indisputable fact that lung cancer was caused by the nicotine in tobacco products. Later this morphed into tar being the cause. Now it is other chemicals that are the killer.

I'm now seeing the same type of science being practised in the climate change debate.

Have we lost real science discipline in a search for a quick fix?

After all stomach ulcers for years were deemed to be caused by stress and dissenters vilfied. This illness was subsequently found to be caused by a bacterium.

Can science by concensus work, or is it killing millions?

My Plumbing is killing me. Oh what Now!

pipes

It would appear from a study that I'm in grave danger from the pipes in my house. I always knew the buggers were out to get me when I plumbed in the down stairs toilet.

Scientists have claimed people should remove old copper pipes from their homes or install special filters because the metal has been shown to build up in their bodies and cause serious health problems.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about it though, apart from rip it all out and renew it in stainless steel, thus bankrupting me, due to the cost. I know I'll renew it in lead. That's much easier to work. Oh, I seem to remember that, that will kill me even faster. In that case I'll take my chances with copper.

Dr George Brewer, lead researcher, said the study in mice had wide ranging implications for health authorities.

That's all right then, cos I'm not a mouse.

At least they haven't published bogus statistics yet.

NASA's mission to find water

This could be cool.

Supposedly we should be able to watch NASA's mission to crash a satellite into the permanently dark side of the moon to ascertain whether there maybe frozen water there.

Coverage starts at 11.15pm BST. The impact is scheduled for 12.31.
