Well done sir

turbine on fire

Here I’m referring to The Duke of Edinburgh who has delivered a withering assault on the folly of wind turbines.

Now those of the Lefty/Green persuasion will try and dismiss his comments as the rantings of a senile, out of touch, silver spoon, “never had it so good”.

Now I’ve met and talked to “The old duffer” on many occasions. He certainly speaks his mind, (A good thing in this PC age. Someone has to) but he usually has a good grasp of the subject in question.

I’ve noticed over the last year or so how the whole experiment in renewable energy is starting to fall apart. Even the BBC is slowly dropping it from it’s agenda. Pre Climategate it was touted as the salvation of mankind. The BBC is now, in my mind, quietly trying to wriggle out of their wholesale endorsement of renewables. However this blogger has a long memory.

The population at large is just waking from an X factor induced sleep, and is starting to realise that this year they are going to be stuck with almost unaffordable energy bills due to the energy secretary’s obsession with renewables, instead of helping lower bills by encouraging the exploration and extraction of Shale gas.

Shale gas would cut gas prices for commercial and private  users and thus boost the economy. Also ending our reliance on middle east imports, which can be used as an economic weapon against us.

I would hope that the average Brit is waking up to realise that they have been conned into buying into a scheme that is impoverishing millions and making very rich those who promulgate this idiocy.

Cows and global warming. The game’s afoot.

I gather Al Gore, High priest of AGW, is calling for all us to make this a day of action on climate change.

I think you will prefer this instead.

The Collegians For A Constructive Tomorrow call for a day of genuine “climate realism,” instead. CFACT Collegians are responding with a bit of online levity.

CFACT’s Methane Madness game trains online players to help “Pal Gore” control the climate by corking cows and watching them float away. Methane is more potent than CO2 as a greenhouse gas but less than 1% of atmospheric greenhouse gases come from cattle. Even so, radical climate campaigners call for shutting down our cattle and dairy industries, along with much of the rest our economy. They’d even like us to go vegan.

So I give you this courtesy of WUWT.

Methane Madness or kill them darn cows.

Much more fun in my opinion.

I don’t believe it.

bear-article_1555847c

As my one reader will note I’m somewhat of a skeptic/denier (insert ad Hominem attack here), when it comes to man made Global warming.

For those who would disagree, I give you a little pamphlet for you to read. Then have a think whether you have been conned or not. Make up your own mind.

Think of the Cheeldren

No, just use them as pawns to justify your ends. Oh, and do get them to coerce their parents while they're about it.

Bastards.

Have a read here if you are new to being a skeptic.

A memo to the "Warmists".

I liked this. Very indicitive about the way I feel about the Cult of global warming.

Dear global warming fanatics,

Please. Stop. You’re embarrassing yourselves. Take a deep breath, and try to understand what has happened to you during the past month. You need to accept that your dreams of global domination are over. Increasingly shrill attempts to terrify the masses into ignoring Climagate are only making you look foolish. The con job you’ve been running for the last thirty years is busted forever.

Read the rest over at Hot air.

How embarrassing.(Again).

PENGUINS

There's this.

The UN IPCC is facing more humiliation today after revelations that a "peer reviewed' study relied on in its Working Group 1 report contained "worthless" and fake data.

It's the first time climate skeptics have landed a direct blow on the prestigious WG-1 report, which outlines the 'scientific' case for climate change and which was used as the basis for the Summary for Policymakers given to world leaders ahead of Copenhagen. Ironically the fatal stab has come from the warmist-leaning Guardian.

In section 3.2 of WG-1, the UN IPCC discounts the influence of Urban Heat Island Effect based on a study by the University of East Anglia's Phil Jones, who gave the first official confirmation in the world that the Climategate emails were genuine.

The problem for the IPCC is the story in today's Guardian newspaper, which reveals the 1990 Jones study was based on made-up data that Jones knew was unreliable.

And this

The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) has been urged by the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition (NZCSC) to abandon all of its in-house adjustments to temperature records. This follows an admission by NIWA that it no longer holds the records that would support its in-house manipulation of official temperature readings.

In December, NZCSC issued a formal request for the schedule of adjustments under the Official Information Act 1982, specifically seeking copies of “the original worksheets and/or computer records used for the calculations”. On 29 January, NIWA responded that they no longer held any internal records, and merely referred to the scientific literature.

“The only inference that can be drawn from this is that NIWA has casually altered its temperature series from time to time, without ever taking the trouble to maintain a continuous record. The result is that the official temperature record has been adjusted on unknown dates for unknown reasons, so that its probative value is little above that of guesswork. In such a case, the only appropriate action would be reversion to the raw data record, perhaps accompanied by a statement of any known issues,” said Terry Dunleavy, secretary of NZCSC.

It really is a house of cards slowly collapsing

They really are leaving the good ship IPCC in droves, aren't they?

global-warming

Now we have a leading Canadian climate scientist distancing himself from the IPCC.

A catastrophic heat wave appears to be closing in on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. How hot is it getting in the scientific kitchen where they've been cooking the books and spicing up the stew pots? So hot, apparently, that Andrew Weaver, probably Canada's leading climate scientist, is calling for replacement of IPCC leadership and institutional reform.

It must be serious:

For him to say, as he told Canwest News yesterday, that there has been some "dangerous crossing" of the line between climate advocacy and science at the IPCC is stunning in itself.

Not only is Mr. Weaver an IPCC insider. He has also, over the years, generated his own volume of climate advocacy that often seemed to have crossed that dangerous line between hype and science.

However he has only just changed his spots as when the CRU hack/leak occurred this was hi considered opinion.

When Climategate broke as a story last November, Mr. Weaver dismissed it as unimportant and appeared in the media with a cockamamie story about how his offices had also been broken into and that the fossil-fuel industry might be responsible for both Climategate and his office break-in.

The whole article is here in the National Post.

Climate "Change" again! A cold wind blows.

It seems there is some shift in the media over climate change. Both the Telegraph and the Mail are running a similar story about Global cooling rather than Global warming.

From the Telegraph:

The world could be in for a spell of cooler temperatures, rather than hotter conditions, as a result of cyclical changes in ocean currents for the next 20 or 30 years, it is predicted.

Research by Professor Mojib Latif, one of the world's leading climate modellers, questions the widely held view that global temperatures will rise rapidly over the coming years.

And from the Mail:

Britain's big freeze is the start of a worldwide trend towards colder weather that seriously challenges global warming theories, eminent scientists claimed yesterday.

The world has entered a 'cold mode' which is likely to bring a global dip in temperatures which will last for 20 to 30 years, they say.

Lord Monkton's letter to the Prime Minister of Australia

A very well written letter by Lord Monkton to the Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd. In it he sets out very precisely why no action should be taken in regards to the supposed AGW theory.

I've created a link to it here on the What's Up With That site

Mystic Meg could do better than the Met Office

Yesterdays forecast for the South East today was that it would be clear and bright. I suppose that was meant to mean the snowflakes that are falling on my patio as I write this. Tossers. And they really mean to say that they can predict the weather in 30 years time?

Try getting the next 24 hours correct.

Obviously that £30,000,000 computer is no good for forecasting the weather. As you've proved it's so useless, can I have it as a gaming machine?

Are they going to kill us all at Copenhagen?

Is belief in global-warming science another example of the "madness of crowds"? That strange but powerful social phenomenon, first described by Charles Mackay in 1841, turns a widely shared prejudice into an irresistible "authority". Could it indeed represent the final triumph of irrationality? After all, how rational is it to pass laws banning one kind of light bulb (and insisting on their replacement by ones filled with poisonous mercury vapour) in order to "save electricity", while ploughing money into schemes to run cars on ... electricity? How rational is it to pay the Russians once for fossil fuels, and a second time for permission (via carbon credits) to burn them ? And how rational is it to suppose that the effects of increased CO2 in the atmosphere take between 200 and 1,000 years to be felt, but that solutions can take effect almost instantaneously?

Here is a couple of links that do try to explain the facts of Climate variability. They are quite long but well worth listening to.

The first is by Robert Felix, scientist and author. The second is by astrophysicist Dr.Willie Soon (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics), climatologists David Legates and Tim Ball and meteorologist Joe Daleo.

They are both radio Interviews.

Climategate and the death of the MSM

This article in the Telegraph also caught my eye today.

barbecue

Climategate: the ailing 'mainstream' media are committing suicide by ignoring the scoop of the century.

A well crafted article by Gerald Warner asserting that the MSM may well have shot themselves in the foot by attempting to ignore the very fact that a great many people have doubts about AGW. A vast number of whom actually do have relevant credentials to understand the science.

And he has this to say about BBC Pravda:

That is the despised organisation that relentlessly inflicts climate alarmist propaganda, fairy tales, “bedtime stories” on the British public, in the style of Radio Moscow, circa 1954 (“Implement the resolutions of the 23rd Congress…” “We have 27 minutes to save the polar bears from melting…”). No intelligent or inquiring individual believes, respects or trusts the BBC. Ditto the print media that is similarly spewing out Al Gore’s trashy superstition.

And his final words:

It seems less than likely. The Mainstream Media are hanging themselves – it is doubtful that they can any longer be described as mainstream. These are turkeys voting for Christmas.

Climategate a single issue,by no means.

The current climategate debacle has been going on for more years that I care to remember. As others have intimated, it is more about control then science.

If you have been around as long as me you will remember the scare in the 70's that we were all going to die from "Global cooling". The British public shrugged that off with the answer, "I'll just put another jumper On".

Then in the nineties it changed to "Global warming" with the IPCC political declaration that we were all doomed to be incinerated. The majority shrugged it off as "Oh goody, that will save on our energy bills."

In the mid 2000's, however, the message subtely changed to "Climate change". This was brought about by the fact that it was observed that in fact, the globe was cooling. How strange?

When you look at the figures it would appear that the whole debacle of this hysteria is controlled by only a few thousands of the population of the planet, numbering in the billions. Yes we have to take accord the research of scientists. But to take it on blind faith is akin to confirming it as a religion.

For more in depth analysis then the green snake in the grass will be better able to explain this new control over our lives.

Climategate. Harry_at_cru code analysed. The smoking Gun?

Regards to the Climategate scandal, it would now appear that the code used in the Harry_at_CRU file has been analysed and found to be wanting.

  1. ;
  2. ; Apply a VERY ARTIFICAL correction for decline!!
  3. ;
  4. yrloc=[1400,findgen(19)*5.+1904]

This initial breakdown was carried out over at Cube Antics and also posted at Watts up with that?

Oh and bye the way, if the oil companies would feel free to donate to this humble blogger, it would be apreciated. (Joke)

It's not the Beeb, but the truth is leaking out slowly

I'm glad that the global warming con is now being talked about more openly, and not just behind closed doors.

Not evil, just wrong.

There are two two things in my life that I dearly want to see in the near future. (Many more hidden away in the dark closet of my mind. They'll have to wait for another day.)

Firstly, I want to see the Labour party consigned to the 9th circle of hell. That's it featured above. Hopefully, dismal enough for them.

Secondly I want to see those proponents who want to drive us back into the dark ages, with the ridiculous idea that we are the cause of climate change, hounded out of public life. In this reccession the last thing we need is money spent on an unproven theory, that will drive the developed nations into a spiralling circle of more debt. The more I hear "The science is settled", "There is a consensus", & the phrase, "Climate change denier", the higher my blood pressure gets.

Rant over for now. A vid that I've posted before.

Maybe I'll send this to my MP

There's a DVD coming out, attempting to show what the measures taken by the climate change hysterics, will mean to ordinary people.

I've only seen the trailer, so I can't really comment much, but I think I'll buy it anyway.

The site is here

And yes, it will go to my MP after I've watched it. That is if it's any good.

UPDATE:

The greenies hate the thought of this film, so they do what they usually do, call the producers denialists. Even death threats.

They'll do anything to continue the AGW myth

In the Mail on Line there is an article that is now using the excuse that our descendants are the original cause of global warming/climate change by resorting to slash and burn to increase crop yields.

Farmers who cleared huge swathes of forests to grow crops thousands of years ago could have increased carbon dioxide levels enough to change the climate, researchers claimed today
My theory differs to theirs in that it is probably the herds of flying pigs farting that has caused it.

There was far less arable land in those days as the population was far smaller. Kent, for instance, was mainly forest until the Napoleonic wars. Why didn't the carbon dioxide levels really not leap up in the 18th and 19th century? Slash and burn was far more prevalent then.

They never give up do they?

Global warming?

This video was shown back in 1990. No-one listened then either.
