There's an annual contest at the Griffiths University , Australia , calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.
This year's term was 'political correctness'.
The winning student wrote:
'Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition
that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end.'
Couldn’t ask for anything better as far as I can see.
Proof then, that some universities succeed in teaching their students to think logically.
ReplyDeleteIn a radio interview a few years ago, Barry Humphries as Dame Edna defined PC something along these lines, " ... lying , by describing the world the way you would like it to be rather than the way it actually is ... " or something a bit like that, but probably said much better.
ReplyDeleteMight have been in an Ed Doolan interview on radio 4 or 4extra.
