What if......

We're heading for a new ice age?

All we've be led to believe over the last twenty years is that we are all going to die because of catastrophic global warming. What if all those overpaid scientists are wrong, and we've been heading in the wrong direction?

I mean where is this warming in the last three years? Where are the drier summers (UK)?

The truth is that we have had three abysmal years in a row of wet and cold conditions. In fact the beginning of this year has been the coldest year in the last 208 years.

German meteorologists say that the start of 2013 is now the coldest in 208 years.
If this is true then our Governments, past and present, have some serious questions to be asked.

1. Why, with all the resources at your disposal, did you get it so disastrously wrong?

2. In light of this fact, will you now order the mass building of conventional power stations to cover the looming energy gap?

3. Will you now withdraw funding from those organisations and persons that have promoted and encouraged this myth of Global warming? (University of East Anglia, and the Chief Scientist spring to mind).

4. Will you you now close down, or at least re-order the Department of Energy and Climate change? And sack the head of.

5. Will you immediately stop the building of anymore Bird Mincers Wind Turbines, and insist that as the existing ones breakdown, no money will be wasted on their repair?

6. Feed in Tariffs. Will you remove these forthwith?

7.. And Finally. Will you make a fulsome apology for believing this scam? On the front page of all the MSM for a minimum of at least one week would be the very least you can do..

I'm not holding my breath.

Charlatans

I had a phone call from a foreign sounding gentleman purporting to be working on behalf of Microsoft. Well I listened to what he had to say and must admit that it sounded plausible until he had me look in Windows event viewer. Now I’ve used the event viewer many times, so when he tried to tell me that those events were going to kill my computer. I began to suspect that he was trying to con me into something that would cost me money.

The long and short of it was, that I let him waffle on for a while, whilst pretending to be very worried, and carried out his every order, typing in various commands into my “Run” bar. Finally we got to  www.logmeien123.com  . Thats when I hung up the phone.

This is a company that will offer to manage your computer for a small sum of, wait for it, £699 per annum. Maybe if I was a computer Luddite and I had a medium size company I might be interested. However, believe it or not I can access my computer for the vast sum of the square root of fuck all. It’s called remote access, and comes built in to modern windows systems.

So if you get called from a company called LogMeIn warning of dire predictions then just tell them to take a running jump.

logmein

Well that’s got that off my chest.

ASH v Forest

This hideous woman, Deborah Arnott has the temerity to state that Forest is funded by Big tobacco. What she doesn't let the viewer know is that ASH is in the main, funded as a lobby group by the government, and by Big Pharma.

The figures for Ash's funds over at the Fake Charities site are as follows.

Its 2008/09 accounts show a total income of £742,562, of which:

  • Department of Health: £142,000
  • ---
  • Total £142,000 (19.1% of all income)

The remainder of its income comes from ASH International (part-funded by Pfizer), and supporting charities, principally Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

It received just £4,975 in voluntary donations from the public, plus a £10,000 legacy.

Surely if the public were so against smoking the private donations would be flooding in.

Amazingly Smokers and anti smokers were able to collect twice as much in the campaign to free the Publican Nick Hogan. IN 4 DAYS.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, you overpaid Harridan.

Copenhagen. No agreement?

polar_bear_christmas

Negotiations at the UN climate summit have been suspended after developing countries withdrew their co-operation.

Well, I could see that coming.

Developing countries fear they would lose many of the gains they made when the Kyoto agreement was signed in 1997.

Losing out on the gravy train then, are we?

Pravda tells all

Update: It looks like they won't be able to make a decision for six years!

Advertising AGW

Is it me or are global warming proponents become increasingly desperate? If the "Science is settled", why are we getting increasing numbers of expensive ads on the TV (I'm referring to Sky here) trying to make any case for it.

1) We had the bedtime story advert, purporting that all the Bunnies were going to meet a slow death by drowning.

2) Another stupid one that tells us to drive 5 miles less per week.

The Department for Transport has today launched an advertising campaign aimed at reducing CO2 emissions from car use.…

The TV advert highlights that by driving five miles less a week, any driver can help make a difference.

Oh yes, the DOT is full of climate change scientists.

3) The one that tries to tell us that it's all our fault for the planet dying.

4) and now the Times is getting in on the act.

They have a trailer that the oceans are turning into Acid. Give me strength.

Every green website is jumping on the bandwagon before it's too late.

I must lie down.

CBS reports on Climategate

It reports that the head of the CRU at the University Of East Anglia is to temporarily step down from his position.

Phil Jones, the head of the Climactic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, said on Tuesday that he will relinquish his post while the U.K. school conducts an investigation into allegations of scientific and professional misconduct.

Notice he is only temorarily standing down. I suspect there will be some sort of whitewash and everything will return to normal. Now if that had been me, and I'd done nothing wrong, they'd have to drag me kicking and screaming from the building.

The reverberations have extended beyond the campus of the University of East Anglia and the CRU. E-mail messages from Michael Mann, a professor in the meteorology department at Penn State University who has argued that mankind is threatening "entire ecosystems with extinction in the decades ahead if we continue to burn fossil fuels at current rates," appeared in the leaked files. Now Penn State has opened an investigation into Mann's work, and the U.K.'s weather agency has been forced on the defensive as well.
I'm sure they all think that it will just melt away.

Hans von Storch, director of the Director of Institute for Coastal Research who was assailed by Mann in one e-mail message, calls the CRU axis a "cartel" and suggests that Jones and others avoid reviewing papers. A colleague, Eduardo Zorita, went further and said Mann and his allies "should be barred" from future United Nations proceedings and warned that "the scientific debate has been in many instances hijacked to advance other agendas."
Yes it's not really about climate change at all. It's all about Power, Control, and Oodles of money.

And to finish, scientists and politicians endorsing dramatic limits on economic growth to limit carbon dioxide have been reminded where the burden of proof properly lies.

Note: Just in case there are any warmists here. That is water vapour emanating from the cooling towers in the top picture, not smoke.

Why 'climategate' won't stop greens

Even the Canadians are questioning AGW.

An article in the Ottawa Sun has a go.

If you're wondering how the robot-like march of the world's politicians towards Copenhagen can possibly continue in the face of the scientific scandal dubbed "climategate," it's because Big Government, Big Business and Big Green don't give a s*** about "the science."

They never have.

I must say I agree with the above sentiment.

Now they and their media shills -- who sneered that all who questioned their phony "consensus" were despicable "deniers," the moral equivalent of those who deny the Holocaust -- are the ones in denial about the enormity of the scandal enveloping them.
We have our own homegrown media shill. The Beeb spring to mind?

So they desperately try to portray it as the routine "messy" business of science, lamely insisting, "nothing to see here folks, move along."

Pretty much everything that happens in this country is met with that sentence these days.

The moment they convinced politicians the way to avert the End of Days was to put a price on emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the unholy alliance of Big Government, Big Business and Big Green was forged.
Mmm. Pretty much what I've been thinking for a while.

What about saving the planet, you ask? This was never about saving the planet. This is about money and power. Your money. Their power.

Yep agree with that.

Anyway the whole article is here. I think we ought follow the advice at the end and let those in power in this country know how we feel

The Climate change house of cards is starting to tumble

I see now that New Zealand's climate data is now coming under scrutiny.

The NIWA [the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric research], are refusing to release data. Are they today's CRU?

In New Zealand's case, the figures published on NIWA's [the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric research] website suggest a strong warming trend in New Zealand over the past century:

Their graph shows the predictable warming trend as does the CRU one.

But analysis of the raw climate data from the same temperature stations has just turned up a very different result:

Gone is the relentless rising temperature trend, and instead there appears to have been a much smaller growth in warming, consistent with the warming up of the planet after the end of the Little Ice Age in 1850.

The whole sorry story is here at TBR.cc

H/T to Watts up with that

UPDATE: Some Australian data may not be squeaky clean either.
