Let off lightly in my opinion.

Four Muslim men were jailed today after they carried out a brutal attack on an RE teacher because they did not approve of him teaching religious studies to Muslim girls.

Gary Smith, 38, received "appalling injuries" after he was set upon by the gang as he walked to work at Central Foundation Girls' School in Bow, east London, on July 12 last year.

Armed with a metal rod and a brick, they punched, kicked and attacked Mr Smith, leaving him unconscious and covered in blood on the pavement in Burdett Road, Tower Hamlets.

From what I’ve read in the last few months, is that Tower Hamlets is fast becoming a no go area for those who are not of the Islamic persuasion. Andre Gilligan did a piece on the East London Mosque for dispatches. There’s a clip HERE.

Anyway to continue, I’ll name names.

Simon Alam, 19, of Whitechapel, Azad Hussain, 26, of Wapping, Sheikh Rashid, 27, of Shadwell, and Akmol Hussein, 26, of Bethnal Green, all in east London, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent earlier this year.

And of course they are supporters of the “Religion of Peace”.

At least the Judge had the balls to speak his mind.

Sentencing them at east London's Snaresbrook Crown Court, Judge John Hand QC said he believed they all remained a danger to the public due to their extreme religious beliefs.

Addressing the defendants one by one, he said: "Your belief is that you carried out a duty to your God and you did so with no mercy.

"If you think that people around you in society present an insult or threat to God then you will not hesitate in attacking again in the way that you have acted."

However as usual, the sentence length is pathetic.

He said he deemed Akmol Hussein, a social worker and self- employed builder, and Azad Hussain, a finance worker, to have played the greatest role in the planning and execution of the attack and sentenced them each to an indeterminate sentence with a minimum of five years.

Student Alam was told he must serve a minimum of five years in prison before being released on licence for a further five years, while bus driver Rashid was handed a four-year sentence with a further five years on licence.

A fifth defendant, Badruzzuha Uddin, 24, also of Shadwell, was also jailed for two years after previously admitting a charge of assisting an offender after he hid the men's bloodstained clothes.

Bearing in mind that they’ll probably be out before serving half their sentence for.

Mr Smith suffered multiple injuries, including lacerations and bruising all over his body, has a permanent 12cm long deep scar across his left cheek, and how the whole of the facial part of his skull was broken.

They should have got ten years each.

A bit Smellie to me.

Remember watching this.

Well it would appear that he has got away with it. Although there maybe  disciplinary action against him.

A Metropolitan Police officer accused of striking a woman with a metal baton at a G20 demonstration has been cleared of common assault.

Sgt Delroy Smellie denied attacking Nicola Fisher, 36, of Brighton, at the G20 protest in London in April 2009.

To me this was beyond belief.

Judge Wickham added: "I am satisfied he honestly believed it was necessary to use force to defend himself."

Watch the footage again and just look at their relevant sizes, for Christ's sake.

This is what happens when there is no jury.

The country really has gone to the pigs dogs.

Paul Clarke. The saga continues.

Maybe there is more to come in the Paul Clarke saga. Word is, that this would involve vigilanties and a machete. We will have to wait and see what CF and Dick reveal at later date. The plot thickens.

Paul Clarke and the MSM. Or not

I do find it strange how the MSM have not picked up on the Paul Clarke case.

A former soldier who handed a discarded shotgun in to police faces at least five years imprisonment for "doing his duty".

Paul Clarke, 27, was found guilty of possessing a firearm at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday – after finding the gun and handing it personally to police officers on March 20 this year.

Is there something that the Blogosphere have missed about this that we don't know about?

Alex Massie of the Spectator also finds it strange.

Paul Clarke - Update

There is an update on the Paul Clarke affair over on Constantly Furious's Blog.

Read my original post here. If you wish to be angry about this, please do. Oh and bye the way, contact your MP over this sorry affair.

NEW UPDATE

There maybe something rotten in the state of Denmark.

CF has some interesting points to make.

Also of interest:

25.2 No obstacle should be placed in the way
of a person who wants to surrender firearms
or ammunition to the police. Surrender might
suggest illegal possession. Persons anxious to
dispose of firearms and ammunition should be
allowed to hand them in at a police station,
although disposal through a dealer might also
be considered. Disposal might suggest
unwanted/unusable firearms held on
certificate.
